Big L’ Smoked Pork Ribs

This recipe comes out great every time.

Ingredients:

  • 1 shaker of Big L’s Gourmet BBQ Rub
  • 1-2 slabs of pork baby-back ribs
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cups filtered water

Marinate the ribs overnight:

  • Stir two tablespoons for Big L’s Gourmet BBQ Rub into a pot with 1 cup apple cider vinegar and two cups of filtered water.
  • Bring to a slight boil while stirring.
  • Remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature.
  • When cooled, add the ribs and let them dance overnight in the Big L BBQ Rub marinate.
 
 
 
 
 

Let’s Get Cooking:

  • Preheat the smoker to 220 degrees Gourmet BBQ Rub
  • I use the Pit Boss Lockhart pellet electric smoker.
  • This recipe will work on any smoker as long as you can control the temperature.
  • Remove the ribs from the marinate and pat dry. Sprinkle the rub generously on both sides of the ribs. They are now dressed and ready for the party. Let them wait 10 minutes while the guests arrive.
  • Once the smoker is ready, introduce the ribs to the party.
  • I cook mine for 3 hours with the bone down (do not turn the ribs over as this will upset the party guests).
  • After 3 hours wrap in butcher paper or foil. Cook for another 2 hours.
  • Remove the paper or foil and cook for another 30 minutes using Big L’s Gourmet BBQ Sauce, (coming soon to our website).
  • Remove from the smoker and let rest for 10-15 minutes and the party begins.

Since you have the smoker going for almost 6 hours you can add your favorite vegetables.
 

Grilled corn

  • I removed the husks, peel a sweet vedalia onion. Butter the corn and cradle it in the onion skins. Wrap in foil and cook on the smoker for about an hour, rotating the corn every 15 minutes.

 BBQ Beans

  • Use your favorite, but we use Bushes Best Vegetarian beans

We add about 1 tablespoon each of the following

  • Yellow and Djon mustard, Worcestershire sauce and ½ cup Big L’s Gourmet BBQ Sauce (coming soon to our website).
  • ½ tablespoon Big L’s Gourmet Rub
  • Simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring often
